The Doña Ana County community will be offered detailed visibility into Project Jupiter’s environmental performance, says Oracle’s EVP Mahesh Thiagarajan
Oracle today announced a comprehensive community programme for Project Jupiter, the company’s 4GW data centre, which will provide the public with in-depth information about the data centre campus once it is live.
The US$165bn facility in Doña Ana County, US, is a massive infrastructure investment in New Mexico but its development has not been without scrutiny from the community.
In response to such concerns, Oracle is launching a public dashboard to track environmental factors, representing a growing industry need to balance technological expansion with environmental stewardship.
Community members will be able to review onsite data concerning air quality, noise levels, heat and light.
Project Jupiter will commission twice-yearly environmental assessments conducted by an independent expert. These reports will compare operational performance against baseline conditions and relevant industry certifications.
